Dahlia tuber FAQ
East of Eden’s Dahlia Tuber Policies
All dahlias listed for sale on our website are sold as individual tubers. They are guaranteed to be high quality, true to variety, and to be showing at least one visible eye at the time of shipping. Dahlia tubers vary in shape and size depending on variety so it should be noted that even small tubers can grow healthy and productive dahlias provided they have a viable eye.
Return Policy: East of Eden is not responsible for replacing tubers that fail to thrive due to poor growing conditions, pests, weather, crop loss or other environmental factors that occur after receipt of the tubers. If your tuber fails to sprout within one month of planting for reasons outside of those just stated, please contact us. We will ship you a replacement in the same variety or, if the specific variety is no longer available, we will send you a substitute with closest match in color and class. Refunds and returns are limited to the price of the tuber only; shipping costs are non-refundable.
Shipping: All tubers are sent via USPS Priority Mail after the danger of frost has passed, generally in the first half of April. Shipping costs are based on the total number of tubers ordered. Your shopping cart will populate the shipping cost based on the number of tubers you have selected.
Receiving: Tubers will arrive packed in plastic bags filled with vermiculite - a sterile medium that prevents the tubers from drying out. Keep your tubers in the bags until ready to plant. Store in an area of your home that stays above freezing. If you'd like, in mid-to-late April, you can pull your tubers into a 60+ degree room to wake them and encourage eyes to swell. This pre-sprouting will help the tubers establish and should result in earlier flowers.
